white Caligula became the queen And like Medusa, turned to stone All who saw her impish mien And I, the girl of Spanish moss became the queen's own wailing wall Who bore the weight of her despair In dungeons draped with satin gall I’d gaze up at the starry night In constellations, found delight I wished for wings of Pegasus To shuttle me from prison’s plight In retrospect, I still am she Born to the path of trodden trees But now envision paradise, For time hath set this captive free… A.McNally (April 27, 2013) © 2013 Avocations of AmberAuthor's Note
