Ticket to TranquilA Poem by Avocations of AmberHaving just gotten over a cold, I long for more days of just sitting in this antique chair.....sipping my hot tea.....without a care in the world. :)Long,
sluggish day, I say, As I
enter the room where my rocking chair lives-- She
patiently waits In her
pinstripes of plum, For the
moment I visit
and give. To give
of myself On her
cushions so quaint; To
think, As I
unload my day. I rock
back and forth On her
old, oaken legs. She’s
an oracle, guiding
my way. She
beckons me blindly No words
and no rules, Just a
minute to sit and surrender….. To
travel to “tranquil” No cost
and no fare; A free
ticket To daydream In my
rocking chair. © 2013 Avocations of AmberAuthor's Note
