INDIA IN 2012

I had written this piece way back in November 2012 so this may not cover some important events of latter part of the year. Just felt the urge to share.

2012 was called the year of Death,
Surprisingly we survived the threat.
For India it was the year that is jinxed,
With rapes, bombs, murders and the economy shrink.
The inflation rates went uphill,
There were endless tantrums on the Finance Bill.
S & P reduced the Growth rate,
And we were left to our own fate.
Petrol and diesel prices soar 
And yellow metal remained affordable no more 
That is when the reforms came
Hoping the economy would settle down.
The King of Good times refused to fly,
And all the employees could do nothing but cry.
Justice was delivered in a certain case
Win of good over evil is indeed a true phrase 
Bollywood and politics lost many of its laureates,
As “Yamraj” came riding on the chariot.
But it is not all that bad you see
What with the entry of star bucks Coffee?
While Dravid retired from International cricket 
Yuvraj fought Cancer and rentered the brigade
The Olympic wins did us proud
While Tendulkars 100 Th international 100 was not left out
While 2013 has almost month more
Let us hope it brings happiness galore
There were some rights and there were some wrongs
But India is a Land that will fight strong
She will surely rise above cynicism
India is indeed on a part of evolution.
