SalvationA Poem by Andrew Michael BennettThe first piece I ever had published. This is from 2009ish.The chorus of the angels arises, singing of my salvation, The old washed away, the new shining as a candle. That prayer so bold I prayed to a King higher than all; The forgiveness given to me, so undeserving, Yes, You shed Your blood for me. I praise You for taking me after it all, All the sinning, all the shame, Those wretched words I put against You, Those vile thoughts of anger toward You, I disgust myself, but still, You love me. Now You live in me, I spread Your message to all I meet, I'm never going back, never going back, Back to that horrid life, I now have too much to lose. You are the words I speak, the smile I wear, You scatter my memories, never to be thought of again, I now have the hope of You leaping in my soul, Of Your love for us all, Your saving grace. Now I wait anxiously to see You again, I'll praise You till then, Jesus, My Lord. © 2013 Andrew Michael Bennett |
