A Life I Cannot Have

A Life I Cannot Have

A Poem by A
"

was thinking about my future and who I want to be if I were more privileged

"
Maybe if I was stronger, better, a little less upset
Then maybe I could enjoy the life I have and
Seek happiness in the things that easily come
but I want a life filled with the things I've always wanted
but everything I want is unattainable anyways...
I guess I'll just lay back down onto my bed with the pillow and mattress that welcome me back so lovingly and fall back into dream again.
The dream where I am the true me.
The real me

I can relate to these words because they touch upon aspects of depression. Why it is difficult to be motivated to rise out of bed because in our dreams we see our better selves. Which in the end are haunting illusions meant to render us immovable and stifle actual living. This is a good poem thank you for sharing.
