The Same Old Song

The Same Old Song

A Poem by Ray
"

Just a simple little poem.

"
Silly me.
Sitting under lock and key.
Singing the same old song,
and I think I've got it wrong.
There's something about the tempo,
or maybe it's the words.
Lost in halls inside my head,
they largely go unheard.
So I'm tripping over melodies,
left cluttered in my wake.
But it could just be the chords,
broken pieces you can take.
It's not my song,
it's not my style,
though I've been
sitting here awhile.
It's not my own,
but I don't know,
at least I feel a little less
alone.

Silly me.
Sitting under lock and key.
Singing someone else's song,
and I know I've got it wrong.

I rly rly love this! It's beautiful and somehow heartbreaking all at the same time in anentirely unconventional way. The ryme and rythme are superb its almost sing-song like which is ironic because of the words in it :-)
