Call

Call

A Poem by Sydney

I asked the fire... "Are you afraid of the cold?"
She chuckled calmly and climbled up the chimney
And called... "Think about it."

I asked the shadow... "Do you ever get lonely?"
She laughed and leaped lively and lovely
And called... "Think about it."

I asked the moon... "Do you ever get sleepy?"
She smiled and stared sparkling and shining
And called... "Think about it."

I asked myself... "Why do I ask?"
And the fire grins and the shadow giggles
and the moon beams and they love that I ask
So they can call... "Think about it."

Thank you so much!
I like this poem! It's sweet and sassy. I imagined it being read as a children's book. Great job!
