A letter to Mom and FatherA Poem by amarikelise16A Letter To Mom And Father Dear Mom and Father, Do you not teach us to be tenacious for the things we desire in life? Yet you deny us the things we ask for and proceed to be angry when we do not give up on the matter. Do you not plead for the things you so desire although many may be petty, did you not beg Dad for the necklace around your neck? When it comes to dance I can be a bit voracious but do not dim my light with your hypocrisy for I do not dim yours when it comes to your enjoyments. So Mom to you, I ask can you be my supporter and not my enemy you are my first sight so surely you cannot deny the light within my eyes, soul, body, and mind. Oh Father do not think this is all on Mom if you were there being officious throughout my life; Mom would not have taken the role of a male. Oh my Father but not my dad you think yourself clever for being surreptitious; therefore, you’ve seen us blind. We’ve known all along I do not blame Mom; I do not blame you; I do not blame I. The love you all once shared has been severed for copious reasons but Mom do not dim my light for the mistakes he has made. Father do not deny Mom the respect she deserves. Parents do not let my dreams die for the fantasy that has failed between the two of you. I hope you understand why I have chosen to leave, do not look for me I will be fine. I will reach my dreams and you’ll apologize to me, One day. Sincerely, Your Daughter © 2017 amarikelise16Author's Note
