I Cry

This is a poem of romance about a person missing someone they mistreated.

It’s midnight

And you’re not here

And only being with you

Would dry my tears

 

And you know

The one thing I miss so much

Is your touch

 

Now you know

I can’t even sleep

Can’t get you off my mind

I’m in too deep

 

And I know

It’s too late

To be sorry now

But, damn

I am

 

And I’m thinking about what we had

Seems like the only thing that keeps me going

And I’m trying to smile, trying to laugh

When all the while I know it’s showing

It’s showing

 

And missing you

Hurts so bad, so bad

That sometimes I feel like I could just lay right down and die

Then my whole world turns around and around

And I cry

Ouch. That one hurt. And it was marvelous.

The style at first glance seems a little odd, but it made for maximum effect. I'm pretty sure I can taste the emotion that stirred within me. Simple words are sometimes the most powerful, and you definitely displayed that here. Excellent write!
