Amoris Servitutem

Amoris Servitutem

A Poem by Amare Malum
"

I apologize for any mistakes on the iambic pentameter, was a rush write.

"
So lost was the ability to breathe
lungs clawing for the paradise of air
wholly forgotten the hope of reprieve
heart's fickle cautiousness not even there

The extreme cruelty of the enslaved heart
as one feels the rapture of love's first bloom
the inexplicable fear of depart
weaving the heart's complex, desperate loom

Pride and moral now a naive concept
though boastfulness takes so long to train
love's serrated thorns so dearly inept
in the wily rewiring of the brain

To contradict the teachings of mercy
is love's transparent, captious decree
