i'm wearing your shirt tonight.
the one from your high school.
did you know
i'm going to your school's prom?
turns out the boy i hold dearest
goes to your school, of all schools.
did you know they made your prom
the same day you died?
so i can think about
how you went to school that day,
came home,
and spent some time with your friend.
like any other day, i suppose.
any other teenager.
only, that night,
you put a gun to your head.
and now,
your school is going to have
their prom the same day,
only six years later.

today, i found this shirt again.
size is XL.
you were always such a big teddy bear.
i'm wearing it to sleep in tonight,
to keep you near my heart.

i miss you.
