The Language of MusicA Poem by amandavenusrSimply something I wrote while thinking of the music I listen to and why I love learning new languages. People usually are not accepting to what is unseen nor what they can understand. The Language of Music. The reason to learn many languages is to understand many others. To be able to communicate and understand another culture, life, beliefs, and emotions in a clear glass rather than a fogged up lake. The jagged edges of a broken glass are like the jagged edges of communication when two people are unable to speak the same tongue and understand. Language is what separates and differentiates people. It is what can string together people from across the globe who lead very different lives, or it can be what pulls apart and favors those who can understand it. Music, on the other hand, is what gives no favor to any language but its own. To understand the music of another there need not be an understanding of the speaking but rather an understanding of the music itself. With every note sung, every tune played, every beat hit, every rhythm counted, there is a language hidden behind. The language of music can be understood simply by those who dare to hear it. Those who shy away in fear of something so unknown yet so natural are the ones who are blinded by the language of human voices. They are the ones who are closed off from the true world of beauty and simplicity. Why must we be able to understand a verbal language to feel emotions of an unspoken one? There is no need to understand something that is natural and existent yet taboo and unseen. There is simply the need to open ones’ mind to the wonders that the language of music may bring. © 2016 amandavenusrAuthor's Note
