Dreaming in fresh honeyA Poem by lovelymarina
citrus fruit,
sour in my mouth, pungent, but sweet. reminds me of you, of us. sulking in a meadow with tall grass and pink petaled tulips, and cows, and valley trees, like the ones from California. to lay on the grass, to rest my head upon it, rough edged but also soft at its root, you remind me of the grass. you don’t remind me of the sunlight, i remind me of the sunlight. i am lovely and i glisten and blaze red hot waves of tenderness throughout i shun out the moonlight and welcome the sultriness of the sun, but understand me, i’m sad because the prairies fall to dirt and nothingness when you bestow upon their land but they are not whole when you vanish. let’s just flee to the golden state like i always say, why can’t you just listen? we can lay beyond eternal rest in the pearly gates, just me and you, of this i desire, try something new, we’ll mirror heaven i’m weeping in a white dress by the willows, come lay here with me baby. © 2022 lovelymarinaReviews
