Adam and EveA Poem by lovelymarinaWhat he did to me.What happened when I met you. Red rose vines,
punctured the peaches sweet taste of affection
rotting away from the inside out, bitter. Glasses half filled with the poison possessed the four walls of the brain in which we enclose our minds-
Rotting, and rotting, and rotting. Decayed cherries sat pretty, with vines that just kept stabbing, the world was so much sweeter without your elixir… Oh how lovely it all was,
before the rotten tomatoes pierced my vein
and seeped into my bloodstream
and my fruit was still fresh. Darling,
look what you’ve done to me now, there’s a pretentious brunette with a flower bed at the edge of her heels
on the corner of Springfield Avenue, it’s so hard to see her face these days. Does this fruit even taste good to you anymore babe? Is it pitting away in the gums of your mouth, leaving zested tangs to meet the f*****g blow in the back of your throat, and adding on to all the other rotten substance he left in your mouth after he softly kissed your bright red lips? The trees with beautiful sour lemons and bright red cherries
turned to fragile branches.
Where did all of the fruit go? The wind will take you away too with the rest of the debris… I wish the overwhelming sugarplum taste in my mouth would return, the cheap f*****g substances wouldn’t dare to continue to make me bitter, he sun would finally come up again
after years of white foam crashing under somber moonlight, and life wouldn’t seem so dull anymore… but who wants their fruit completely ripe anyways? That just seems so cliché, I’m starting to think it’s better this way. You’re making this process longer than it has to be, eat the rotted fruit with gratitude my sweet love. © 2021 lovelymarinaAuthor's Note
