Fruit Flies

Fruit Flies

A Poem by Amanda Reynolds

I used to think that fruit flies were dead

When I found them in my glass of wine.

Then, one day (annoyed), I pulled one out of my glass,

And watched one on the tip of my finger-

Flapping it wings and flitting away-
