Rain

Rain

A Poem by Amanda Reynolds

Rain

A much-needed rain came to me while I slept,

The roads flooded and I walked around

Pools of cool water, navigating the young ones

to do the same.

The rain was welcomed, I just didn’t want to get caught up in it.

Soon it was inevitable, my feet were wet.

I could feel it in my dream.

The next day, it rained.

And when I told the warning tale of my dream, I mostly got strange looks,

Or was completely ignored.

But I was careful not to get my feet wet.

Many people went home that day,

With cold wet feet.

reminds me of something that happens to me so often...I get a whim of something happening and suddenly it is, whether in dreams or not.
And I like how you made this metaphoric with the people going home with cold wet feet...to complete what happened in the dream.
