Raven Ink Group Prompt about "Hair"

She told me that she had cut her hair,

Because she wanted to do something new with it,                                                                                                                      A new color and layers, and that it came out bad.

And that it didn’t matter anyway, Since no one sees it,

because of her religion.

“You see it”, I told her, “and that’s all that matters,

and I saw it and it was beautiful,                                                                                                                                              I only wish that she could see it.

It's sad that the over reliance on social perception has completely displaced self reflection.

This is how hair style dies and the standard haircut rules perpetually.

Nice mysterious feel to this. I like the way you just present the readers with the scenario and leave us to work things out for ourselves. Excellent ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

A common affliction. Too many of us can see only our shortcomings.

Amanda,
VERY cool take! on the topic... Thanks for participating! I only wish this were a better venue for groups... after my experience with Ravin' Ink I wonder why they even bother with the option. I'll keep it open, and adding new prompts... sometimes that's all we need to turn out something marvelous we didn't even know we had in us.

Perceptions do change from eye to eye and when it is your eye looking at your hair then the cynic comes out tears you a new one.
I look back on my youth remembering how I used to bleach then colour my hair about once a month. I liked it at the time but now look back thinking wow, those additives in coke and gummy bears were so strong I didn't even know I was hallucinating!
😃
Ah, remembering those days while staring into a mirror at my now brittle and thinning hair, sigh!
