Frankenstein

Frankenstein

A Poem by Amanda Reynolds
"

My thoughts while reading the 1818 version of the classic "Frankenstein"

"

Frankenstein

It all started innocent enough,

Curiosity and goodwill,

All in the name of science,

And unfortunately, vanity.

As you forged on creating your creation,

Losing yourself in the mix,

The monster you created,

Was innocent,

And beautifully, unlike you.

It's incredible how themes like this cross vast amounts of time.

The Modern Prometheus was the better title for Shelley's book. Our very first science fiction author. (there is a peak x files episode from season 5 called "the post modern prometheus" you should watch... it's delightful, especially if you are a fan of cher and frankenstein)

I would like to have seen a cage match between Mary Shelley and Freddy Nietzsche.

Thank you so much for your comment and recommendation, I will check it out this weekend;) and I love.. read more
The monster was not vain, the doctor was...and it was so sad how the monster accidentally killed that little girl, throwing her in the pond....he was playing....

madness breeds madness...as the town verified when they burned the Dr. and his creation out.
I do have a suggestion concerning Frankenstein...you might check out Dean Koontz' version of
Frankenstein...I think I remember 3 or 4 books in his series...a modern day Frankenstein...lots of the books contain first person narrative from the monster's point of view...interesting.
I really like your poem.
