Thrift Shop

Thrift Shop

A Poem by Amanda Reynolds
"

refection on judging people

"

"Thrift Shop"

In the thrift shop of my mind,

I am making fun of all these people

I see there for being there all the time,

But how would I know this

If I was not there, so often

Myself.

Awake up call upon a place where we should all go now and again - if only to remind us of so much we forget. Such a fine piece of writing, Amanda

every person in this universe has purpose and meaning, no matter how large or how small....
no one is insignificant...we all need each other...we must remember that.
This poem reminds us in a wonderfully metaphorical manner.

I fall victim to this myself all the time because I quite enjoy people watching and will often find myself doing it idly if I have a few minutes or am waiting. If I do it long enough I start to pick up on there habits and even though I don't really know anything about them or why they have these habits, I'll make up entire back stories in my mind. It takes a surprising amount of self awareness to realize when you're judging and even when it might be a bit hypocritical. At least you did. Thank you for sharing this write with us.
