A Poem by Amanda Reynolds
"

after a visit to the cemetery

"

Today, we went to see to see

My grandmother’s grave,

But first stopped to see the baby’s stones,

To remember, and keep their hopes alive.

So many dreams dashed,

But were they the lucky ones?

Fantastic work. Powerful.

I occasionally take short-cuts through the local cemetery. I've spotted a couple of very young children's graves. It really makes me wonder, and at the same time contemplate making it as far as I have.

Yes, dark side of the moon. :)
I also visit graveyards and I am always moved at the loss of children and babies. My heart feels so sad for their parents and lost opportunities. Yes, dashed dreams, in an unkind world. I pondered on your question Amanda. A poignant piece of poetry that touches the emotions.
