Fake FireplacesA Poem by Amanda ReynoldsThe duality of everyday lifeFake
fireplaces really piss me off. I mean, what’s the point. I saw one the other day, in this
little overpriced café, Next
to it was a stack of plastic logs- not to burn?... Atop the mantle of make believe, There were battery powered lights (LCD’s) that tried to flicker like flames. It took everything in me not to walk over To the tiny power box AND turn it off. But then, the owner of the establishment might think that I am strange, So I Didn't, Because I really like eating, in this little overpriced café. © 2023 Amanda ReynoldsFeatured Review
