That's just the way it goes

That's just the way it goes

A Poem by Amanda Moubarak
"

We stress over this life like it's going to last forever, but nothing does.

"
Things are unpredictable
Everyone is replaceable
That's just the way it goes

Your whole life becomes memories
Which you'll take with you when you leave
That's just the way it goes

You will lose someone you love
And somehow you'll carry on
That's just the way it goes

You'll leave and one day you'll understand
That they all move on in the end
That's just the way it goes

So live each day like it's your last
Cause life passes by so fast
That's just the way it goes.

I can see why this is one of your favorites. It's obvious that the pain overwhelmed and consumed the voice in this poem until there was nowhere else to go but "move on" with life. And, even though, the voice moved on to the next chapter of life; the memories of the past are still there. In many ways, this poem reminds me of the closing to F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. "So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past." PS: I use that line as an epigraph for The Magnificent Madigan.

This is all very true yet you put it into words that are making a combination of positive thoughts. In other words, the way you write it makes it seem good, (yet we all know that nothing lives forever).
