A Poem by Amanda Melito
"

This is one of a few poems I'll post which are shorter, but meaning can still be drawn in different ways. Like what kinds of dreams?

"
I like the tortured mind
With dormant dreams inside
Though people come to find
A stranger in his smile

I like the short poems in that they present a challenge in interpretation:) This makes me think of the coined phrase “sonder” which speaks to the realization that every individual is as deep and complex as oneself. We all have a depth to us that not even we know ourselves. But as humans, we are driven to seek out others for companionship, even if they are just strangers to our dormant minds. Just my preliminary thoughts after reading this. It flows very well; good job!
