Where are You Now?

Where are You Now?

A Poem by Amanda J. S.
"

A poem dedicated to an old friend....

"

Where are you now?

You said you would be there for me

Always.

You called me your best friend

And I called you mine.

We weren't romantically involved

Even though people might have thought so.

I saw you as the brother I never had

But what did that really mean to you?

When things got tough,

As it normally does for "different" people like me

You weren't there for me anymore.

When I turned out not to be as normal as you thought,

We drifted apart like ice flakes on heating water.

My friend,

I miss the times with you

But I wouldn't take them back

For anything in the world.

Sincerely,

Amanda J. S.
