Slaughtering One Another....

Slaughtering One Another....

A Poem by Amanda J. S.
"

Hm...

"

Slaughtering One Another...

The blood is flooding the streets of this Earth.

We are slaughtering one another.

We are aiming for our opponents’ hearts

And repeatedly pierce our target.

When this happens

The others’ hearts are torn to pieces

And it takes a long time,

If not an eternity,

For the pieces to entwine again.

Each individual reacts differently to a broken-heart:

Some get depressed,

Some anxious,

Some furious,

And some even psychotic.

I just have one question:

Why?

Why do we sometimes take pleasure in hurting others?

Revenge

Some say

But I don’t think that’s it.

I do not know what else it can be

But I intend to find out.

Haha! thanks :-)
Lovely, but with two errors: second stanza, last line. *Pieces.
Lastly: fourth stanza, second to last line. Some *say.
Other than that, well done.
