Lone Spark in The Darkness

This poem is based on a kid I know.

He’s sitting in the dark.

Inside of him there is a spark.

A spark of goodness,

Wanting to defeat the darkness.

He cries silent tears,

Not wanting anyone to notice the smears.

Lone spark in the darkness.

 

He is going day by day,

Thinking the way they treat him is okay.

He thinks it’s his fault,

Not taking it as an assault.

Too shy for seeking goodness,

Thinking he is oh so worthless.

Lone spark in darkness.

I do believe I know a kid just like that...It is all a part of growing up I suppose, thinking that it is all your fault when things go wrong...I actually never did grow up..I just grew old....Great poem
