Running barefoot

Running barefoot

A Poem by amanda

Deep in the darkest jungle

Far from any road, detached from any civilization

the perfect hiding place

without any human language

with no name

I will find myself close to the heart of darkness

lost in lush forest green

burrowed in the deepest darkest jungle

hidden away from plain sight never found by accident

and desperately clinging to the greenery

matted hair, muddy feet, dirty face

with no name

I will not look the same

peering out with eyes full of wonder, lips trembling

crawling deeper into that hole, afraid of white eyes staring back

Skin and bones

naked

digging with bare hands in red soil

Running barefoot
