Love Is a Roller Coaster

Not sure how I feel about this one.

Looking back on things,
Before I knew you...
Life was meaningless,
Didn't know what to do.

What I wanted,
Well I thought I knew,
But things really changed,
When I luckily met you.

I was suddenly happy,
Smiling all the time,
Things had really changed,
And I really didn't mind...

But then we faced a problem,
You had to decide between two,
I'm glad you chose me,
And proved your love was true.

All of these months later,
We're still happy together,
I'm still glad you chose me,
And I'll still love you forever.

Love is a roller coaster,
There are always ups and downs,
How we survive them, though,
Shows if love has truly been found...

bittersweet obstacles of love, somehow I always get excited that i'm on the front row of the coaster.. and then when life hits me in the face like a coaster on the drop.. I wish I wasn't so scared to be sitting in the front, wish I could be one of the back bencher's and not face love/life head on cause like most good things in life, the joy ride is over before you know it. Great Write though, Love your imagery and expressiveness. It feels good to imagine what love is like, through your poems. Keep writing you're so talented.

love is, indeed, a roller coaster. glad to know you are on that upward, slow climb...hope you don't race to the bottom anytime soon, coz it is always at breakneck speed. excellent write.....oh, yeh...i see you are in eastern Virginia...i come from Portsmouth so, we were once neighbors!

Yeah, the upward climb is always amazing, hopefully I don't get to the bottom, that would be terrible :/ &oh, Portsmouth? I'm in Chesapeake, so yeah, we really were extremely close. I don't know how much you know about Chesapeake, it's not as popular of a city, but I'm pretty close to the Portsmouth lineZ

This was a really cool read. Through your poem I could understand your feelings and everything. What I noticed about your poems is that you always end it in the most beautiful ways.

Its really true! Its when you stay long enough even after all the hurt that's when you know you found the one! But i didn't get to feel the downs...you only gave the ups...but thats ok xD

How very true this poem reads. Love definitely has its ups and downs, obstacles and struggles along the way. When you find someone that can truly be there for you and help you along the way it makes the roller coaster ride truly worth it and enjoyable too. Well done with another beautiful piece Amanda.
