Refusing to Love

Refusing to Love

A Poem by AAB88

Heaven forbid you let your guard down. It would just simply be earth shattering if you forgave yourself for all the hurricanes & tornados you have created with that beautiful mouth of yours and these shameless hands. & it would just make you passionately foolish to give yourself even the slightest bit of credit. I think it's time to put that cigarette out & stop feeling sorry for yourself, that same self that is the hardest person to please. Can you take an eraser to your past? No, but you can stop it from defining who you are today. & if that doesn't give you some kind of hope, nothing will.
