I mean, what is living? We all say we would live if we didn't work for 9-5 but when we don’t work we just don’t to anything either! At least my circle is like this…
But this poem has a great point of course!
All true and well articulated.
It is so important to have that good balance between private life and work. We need to survive, but we need time for ourselves and family.
Everyone has different goals and circumstances.
We all suffered one way or another.
Health of body and mind are of paramount importance and your mobility. You lose them, kiss all others goodbye.
Just few obvious thoughts came by your inspiration.
I don't think I've ever had a "lifestyle". I've always thought having life was enough. Work is often less strenuous than our efforts at play. I've worked in sawmills and lumber yards, trucked across the country for thousands of miles and worked twelve hour days in a textile mill where, on summer days, the heat in my work area would be well over the hundred degree F. mark. I'd carry extra tee shirts to work so when I soaked one thoroughly through I'd change out of it, hang it on a pole and put on my dry one and rotate them back and forth, all the while, drinking Gatorade and water to keep from getting dehydrated. Good times. (laughing) We got to do what we got to do to survive. Now I'm old and my body has scars, my joints ache and my hands have gotten soft but I can still stand straight. Most of my old co-workers are dead.

I worked in a plant nursery in hot glass house or out in the sun budding roses in school holidays, then I went into histopathology field, now in my 47th yr in May 25. Yes long hours and odd start times 3am, 4am starts and now 3pm to 11 or 4 to 12midnite and those sometimes include 12 shifts even now at 65. Work for me has certainly stolen my time from family and leisure. Got 2 yrs to go then maybe part time to help with the pension lol. Thanks for sharing Fabian.

I've met some brilliant and wonderful men and women in my travels; people who could tell me exactly why they think and feel the things they do, always open and forthright. Those are my people.
Ah don’t I know it… my meal ticket has my feet bloated and blistered…. Labourers of the world unite! But that we don’t hear any longer…
