A Poem by andrew mitchell

I must go
do not uncover your love
the undress would
only woo me
for my mind is weak.

I wish to pass unharmed
for love hurts
in serious ways
upon the heart.

I seek not
the love I see
in your eyes
for that will
truly blind me.

Oh lead me not into
temptation and yet…
Nothing ventured,
nothing gained!

Oh! Forget it.
Do not yield me
into your promised lands
for if I buy
you may sell
to someone else.

The foreseeable path
ends where you
have last tread
but alas, my thoughts
still travel.
