The space within a dot

The space within a dot

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Where dots became
in their growth
lines of expansion
so did lines become
circles that shrunk
with time to dots.
From the line
I followed
that once had an end
now had changed
I had gone full circle.

Andrew,
I love this alternative to the "space between the dashes", although that one is good as well. I simply prefer your "dot" theory. Which, believe me, I grasped much more quickly than I did the mathematical "dot theorum" in high school.

I had to read yours a 2nd time to fully "get it"! But that's OK, a good poem, a poem with actual substance inside the words should be something one should have to work at to understand. I'm at the age where I'm wondering how much longer I have running in circles until BAM! You turn a corner and the dot is staring at you, with a menacing grin on his repulsive reptilian face, snarling at you, daring you to try to get to the dot unscathed.
Your poem is very creative and I enjoyed reading it (twice) and apparently got a kick out of reviewing it as well.

i really liked this one. and i think it's because it reminded me of the universe. we are a dot in the grand scheme of space orbitting a larger body. geometry is a language that captures this celestial dance happening all around all the time. there was a youtube video, i dont think i can find it again, with a scientist explaining the "ten dimensions" using georgraphic shapes, starting with a dot. it was mind-blowing stuff and i just remembered it.

I hope you don't keep going in circles without an exit strategy. Think outside the box or outside your inner circle; your choice.
Brilliant thoughts you share.
