When the wheels of motion are out of alignment

When the wheels of motion are out of alignment

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In the context of things
Yes, things!
Things that come
with consequences.

I’ve been dead
for billions and billions of years
only to emerge,
my atoms all aligned.

So here I am living,
making a living
approaching
my twilight years
where my atoms
will start slowly separating
returning me to the wilderness
of space
for another billion
and more years.

I better get my things.
