Shoot first

Shoot first

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I do not recall
if there was
any recoil
when the thought
was fired for I
was not the target.

How can that be? You can't recall the recoil when things were to boil over into a great fight.
Two choices: You can target someone or something or you can be targeted.
In the U.S. presidential elections turn into personal attacks.

A nice playfulness with words here. I enjoyed.

Thank you Fabian.
I keep coming back to this and rereading it. It’s not super complicated but I keep having slightly different interpretations in my head. I think it says a lot about what it’s like to be a witness (I was going to stay bystander but that didn’t feel like quite the right word) to something but not actively involved. You do tend to miss the little details that are so important to someone who is.

Thank you Green and yes you got it, a innocent bystander present looks on.
