We all have our moment in the sun. Like flowers we bloom and fade. But I think an obsession with the passing of time may prevent some from enjoying the time they have, what an awful irony of life when that happens. A good read. Carpe diem. F.
I think we have to be ready and willing to accept changes (tides) in our lives eventually the prospect of death of a loved one; health is the most important thing in life, but we will all eventually fall victims to some ailment.

Your poem reminded me of the fickle nature of the tides. Can be gentle with its lapping on the shore or can crash and roar like a lion. I guess the moods of the sea are similar in their extremes to human moods. This little piece of brevity gave me some strong imagery. Tides of influence can be dangerous. I prefer the other sort.
