We find the Stanza
guilty for not complying
to a standard fit for poetry.
We also find the Stanza
doesn’t comply to the quality
controls set out for proper poetry.
I see!
Stanza, you have been found guilty
on all accounts of not
making yourself accountable.
I therefore sentence you
to two words without a full stop
and from loitering on
all pages blank, and corresponding
with other stanzas.
I hope you learn your lesson

Don't you hate when stanzas go rogue? Better to be brought in by the grammar police to explain the heretical nature of this stanza then to be dragged in by the Thought Police for re-orientation.

If there were quality controls for poetry it might spare the world a lot of bad rhyme and poorly sustained metaphor. But then, we'd be out of many of the finest poets who wrote without concern to style or meter. A whimsical look at the grammar police. I enjoyed.

Thanks Fabian, yes I would not be here if controls were put in place but freedom allows a bit of fun and creativity. If Andy Warhol could do it anybody can! Not a fan of his art but then writers aren’t a fan of mine either lol.

My immediate thought was. 'I stanzalone' - typed it in then - read what dear Stella had written.. great minds thinking similar! Apart from that, your imagination covers so much ground each time you post a poem or tale, sir! Do ideas/inspiration drop from nowhere for you or do you mull over things or.. what? Those men have been the most admired men for their humour and inspiration for many years in the UK. In fact earlier this evening their was a TV programme of Billy C. jn America, a sick man whose eyes are still twinkling.
