The testament of time

The testament of time

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Bring in your next witness.
Yes your Honour.
I bring you Time.
Time, did you not
deceive everyone
that they had ample?
Yes, your Honour.
And did you allow
those to play
with time knowing for well
that their time
was running out?
Yes your Honour.
Please explain?
I’m not responsible
for those who
waste time, your Honour.
I merely give myself
and that’s all.
I see. Good Lord!
Look at the …….
Yes, your Honour
you are getting older
as we speak.

This scenario made me smile Andrew. It also reminded me that time appears to speed up as we advance in years. Important to make the most of it and not to waste it.

Thanks Chris, I can’t believe how this year has gone so fast and yet a lot has happened.
Andrew,
Time is of particular fascination for me. You see I'm a "timeatheist." time cannot be a real thing because in any universe, my little high school students can not be posting pictures of their grand kids and even great grandkids... Time is an illusion, and so is this thing we call "reality!" And oh, the games we play to convince ourselves they are real. Even the Bible says there is no such thing as time... Jesus told the pharisees "I tell you the truth, before Abraham was, I am!" So they crucified him... Aside from all that, there is NO POSSIBLE WAY I'm 74 years old! and getting older as I write this!
