In search of the three am meaning

In search of the three am meaning

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In the stillness
of the mirror
a retina etched
moment pauses -
seemingly time
stands still
on hearing
through the cosmos
along the sounds
of a twelve string verse
played upon the bass beat
of a stanza
the verberation
of the period echoes
it’s promise
not to continue
along the lines
to be read out loud
but only in tiny whispers.
For this was not
the write to break
the sound barrier
but quiet footsteps
in the space of silence.
It’s three am
the artist’s mind is spread
over thoughts pouring
into a sieve
on the hope
there lies the meaning
before it’s lights out.

I don't know that poetry ever breaks the sound barrier, but I do think the whispers reverberate...

and they are heard....we have to keep whispering. we have to.

An exaggeration on my part on not the poem as such but the vocals that amplify the words. Thank you .. read more
