To play a God
one must look down
on Earth as
the Roman games
but on a very large scale
where
one must pit
every living being
against each other
and only the victor
will survive
to eat it’s prey.
The methods are as follows
may there be
violence, pain, callousness, heartache,
cruelty, and sadistic
killings on all fronts
of the animal kingdom.
Of course, he has to be loving too
this is just his dark side of entertainment.
I take this to mean that we are somewhat similar to the Romans in that they desired blood, animals fighting each other.... but today we have humans fighting each other; and plenty of blood spilled today.... in wars which kill innocent humans, then take innocent children and brain wash them.... it is likely that more blood will be spilled.... human to human, not animal to animal for entertainment.... Well done!

Thank you for your thoughts Betty, yes so many anger issues, hate and resentment in the world.
And still today as way back many centuries ago, the Roman people seemed to be entertained within the confines of their stone built, mighty amphitheaters, sought solace from the spilling of blood, nowadays no amphitheaters but various lands throughout the planet still soaked in blood, and not just animal but of fellow humans too boot..
A powerful and profound poetic philosophy Emperor poet Andrew!
The dual nature of man - half animal, half god - is well-captured in these lines. Such realizations also contain an indirect question: which side should we promote? Or, perhaps we should just keep them both in balance without letting either get out of control. The ancient Greeks had Apollo and Dionysus to represent these two very different forces in men. In our time, we need the artist, the poet to remind us of what we are.
