The greatest story that was never told until now

The greatest story that was never told until now

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Welcome everyone
to the Creative Noise Assembly
where we are gathered
here today to give
you all a voice.
To get started
who would like to moo?
I will moo said cow.
Any takers for a quack quack?
Sounds good to me said duck.
Who would like to baaaaa?
That’s for me said sheep.
The next voice will be quiet as a.....
I will said mouse.
Nice! Quiet as a mouse!
Who would like a trumpetity thrill?
I says elephant.
Many voices later.
Finally, I give Adam and Eve
the last voice:
blah, blah,blah, and more blah.
Secondly, as you have all
been so well behaved
I give you all as a gift
the following noises:
snorting, sneezing, coughs,
gurgles, screams, bottom burps
hiccups and just burps.
That’s it folks.
Enjoy the noise.
And it’s back to the jungle for you
and it’s back to the universe for me.

Funny. I've done a few similar pieces, How the Crow lost His Voice and one called, First Giraffe; neither published here. But I like the creation stories like Kipling's tales or the Aboriginal folktales. The Lenape tribes in North America and the Countries of both India and China have a creation myth that involves the world being bourn on the back of a great turtle. This was fun to read.

lol Thank you Lydi for joining in the fun.
Why is it that man always has to have the last word? Oh yes he thinks he has more words and better words but let him try to understand the chirp of the birds or the barks of a dog let alone the squeaks of a dolphin. It seems they understand us better than we them. I loved the build up in this piece and the inevitable ending. Nicely done

Thank you Ken much appreciated.
fun fun....and it's back to the universe for me...
all voices should be heard....but sometimes criticism can hush them...and that is so unfortunate.
we are all flawed but some do not know they are.

Thank you Jacob
For some reason Andrew when reading your very creative and entertaining poem, I thought about all the people who aren't being listened to. The ones that are being ignored or silenced. We are certainly living in a jungle these days.
