Not a thread of meaning

Not a thread of meaning

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I tried to swing a line
ended up hanging
by a stanza.
Luckily, it had
an escape clause
so I fell on
a full stop
only to end up
a capital without
a verb and no adjective.
All I wanted
was a new line
not some random
meaningless word.

love the title sir! the line is easily swallowed says i .. sometimes we try too hard, i think. hitting our heads hard on that full stop ... which seems indelible no matter how many tines we back up and give it another go ... it isn't much to ask is it, Andrew ... just one new line please! ;}

I know the feeling… being Petrified like a Fossil on the Bay of Fundy in Nova Scotia… so little time to be a Conductor of Words. gently, Pat
