A code blue.

A code blue.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

I only see
the rainbow
that you are;
black and purple
are not your colours.
Step into the light,
let go of the shackles,
feel free once more.

As a victim of mental and physical abuse, this speaks volume to me. I'm just one of those lucky victims that managed to unshackle themselves and got out of the horrible situation. Powerful write.

You are one of the lucky ones. Stay safe.

You stay safe too.
Fear is being coded to warn or scare people from the known and the unknown. Some people can move past their fears, others become slaves to it.
The rainbow is a great sign of hope after the storm.

You are welcome Emperor Mitchell... ..
This is how I feel when I read poets that post something strong & talented, along with reasons why we won't like it or why it's sub-par, etc. Announcing one's inadequacies before we even really get acquainted. That's the foot that many people put forward (((HUGS)))

Thanks Margie just based on domestic violence increasing over our lock downs around the world.
And yet, statistically, so many fear unshackling themselves from such an awful situation - poor souls - this speaks volumes in these times Andrew - I dread to think how much this has risen in recent times...

Thanks Ruth.
Black and purple are the colour of bruises. They aren't rainbow colours. Yes, step into the light. A good instruction without doubt. Freedom always better than remaining shackled.
