Why the woodface?

Why the woodface?

A Poem by andrew mitchell

When the aura
of our colours
didn’t match
each other’s rainbows,
we were left
in the prisms
of our own
white light
of our own
shining.
Our pot of gold
wasn’t meant
to be.

A reminder that what first looks inviting, may not materialise. Pots of gold aren't easily found. Greetings Andrew. Hope all is good with you.

You're welcome! :)
Some relationships are doomed from the start but we just don't see it. We ignore the auras and search for the pot of gold but seldom find it.

A short poem that speaks volumes.
Good one Andrew.

Stay safe ... be well

Your poem is a fun ironic roast for all those poets who spew romantic verse obsessed with having a cosmic aural connection with the object of one's affection. I get a woodface every time I see "soulmate" in a poem *wink! wink!* fondly, Margie

The poem is great, but before even reading it the title made me laugh. I have never heard that expression; did you come up with that? Why the wood face made me think of a board expression. Nice work!
