Caught in a drought in the dunes of love.

Caught in a drought in the dunes of love.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

In the heart of the desert
love's oasis was a mirage.
Love was the confection
you placed upon emotions,
the dressage of horses
chasing the fox on the run,
love was the act of pushing
the boundaries of dependency -
the plunger of the syringe,
love was the gluttony
of all things full,
love was the victim
of its own demise-
kicking stones and cans
trying to catch that star,
love was a heart
waiting....
in need of two.

Thank you dear Pat.
Love is so many things pathetic too. An overrated thing. I like this poem very much.

Thanks for reading dear poet.
Love is either easy or difficult. At best it takes an
attitude of receiving a gift each day... and a sense of
well-being to share that person with the every day world.
Much like a Comic strip that changes every day... and
sometimes there is drama and a moral to the story.
It will never be easy, because we are human with many
frailties. truly, Pat
