In a  town called Pasta.

In a town called Pasta.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

The feud between the Linguine
and Fettuccine clan started when
Angel hair came into town.
Besotted by her texture so smooth,
Fusilli noted she was cooked al dente.

But when Lasagne was found dead
on the floor of the kitchen by Tagliatelle;
a posse of Macaroni shells blamed Rigatoni
who sided with Fettuccine.
Later, he was found hung with the garlic.

Linguine in outrage hired the top gunslingers:
Penne, Vermicelli, Tortellini, Pappardelle,
Cannelloni, Ravioli, and Orzo
- the Magnificent Pasta Seven.

The battle was fought and won
and while the seven became five
losing Penne and Orzo,
victory was restored in the cleanup;
tomato sauce and paste were everywhere.

Meanwhile, Parmesan, a drifter looked on with Seasonings.
As for Angel hair, she fell for the Cook.
After all, it was just another
Spaghetti Western.

Haha! Hilariously written, Andrew! Such imagination!

Not being an avid Italian food fan (Pizza excepting), i didnt realise there were that many different types of Pasta! You have blended them all into this creative tale in a wonderful way. I could see this poem being given the Pixar touch and being made into an excellent animation film.

Incredibly inventive and entertaining writing, as always. Loved it!

Hahahahahaha! My cheeks hurt from smiling Andrew. Your brilliance just shows through every word of this fantastic poem. So original and out-of-the-box creative. Every line is so clever and perfect- “Spaghetti Western” clinches the deal! “The Linguine and Fettucine clan”- how funny is that! Angel hair pasta- the femme fatal! Great, great, great beginning to end. Loved this!!!
