Is that my next step?

Is that my next step?

A Poem by andrew mitchell

There’s no point
putting your best
foot forward,
if you don’t know
your next step.

Thank you Sir!
Best foot. Is that like choosing a best child? That's the stuff overwhelming anxiety and panic attacks are made of.

I guess it's better to just flip a coin. Really enjoyed your poem. Reminds me that you really got to plan ahead before before choosing a direction.

This is very clever. Short and to the point... something I would see as a motivational quote up in a frame in an office.

Very few writers can say so much in so few words! I usually prefer longer storytelling verse, as the short blips leave me wanting. But this is totally satisfying becuz you've said all that needs to be said, while also igniting a whole host of details in the reader's mind (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
