Who's responsible for natural selection?

Who's responsible for natural selection?

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Who's responsible for natural selection?
When God made natural selection,
how unlucky some were.
That terrible realization
on being born,
thinking you're a horse or better;
only to find out
at water's edge, a reflection;
you're a sheep!
Growing up in fear
a lamb for the slaughter;
a juicy loin chop,
or kept for wool
before the barbecue!
Yes! What a let down,
finding out  "You're a sheep."
Meanwhile, Lucy and Peter
made a pact whoever dies first
will contact the other. Peter died.
" Lucy!" "Are you there?"
" Peter, is that you?"
"Yes Its me!"
" Are you in heaven?'
"No! I've come back as a sheep
 fifty miles out of Sydney!"

...all we need is popcorn! ; )
I did like the ending.
"No! I've come back as a sheep
fifty miles out of Sydney!"
The above lines. The trickery of the Gods. Thank you Andrew for sharing the entertaining poetry.

Thank you Doodley for your kind words.
ahaha ..your humor wins out :))) yes natural selection hasn't put humans at the top ... not yet anyway .. tho we have all the right tools we forever miss the mark .. i love Lucy and Peter .. i read about an experiment agreed upon by a physician and a friend during the French guillotine days ..the good doctor was being sent to loose his head and he believed that consciousness remained briefly so he told his friend he would blink as many times as he could once decapitated .. allegedly he did blink a bunch of times and that and the pleadings of a beautiful Aristocratic young lady ended their lives but also began the non-use of the guillotine ..anyway ..Lucy and Peter reminded me of that :) enjoy your poetry sir ..
