All my loves were compared to Horseracing.A Poem by andrew mitchell
All my loves were compared to Horseracing.
Maybe because I'm not into horse racing but with all my loves I was always pipped at the post. I fell in love with Rachel Ward but against all odds Bryan Brown won that leg! Long before that I fell in love with Marilyn Monroe but I was scratched... something to do with power and politics. Yes! All the President's men couldn't put her back together again. Just a candle in the wind! I loved Brigitte Bardot but when God created woman he left me somewhat behind.... I was still a boy! Then there was Jane Fonda such a young filly but she was in the clouds floating as Barbarella and I was stuck in the stalls. I fancied my chances with Joan Collins, she was a flighty mare, whoa! but toy horses weren't in vogue then you know, a colt like me when she could have a stallion and she did! Neigh! Neigh! Oh! Then I fell for the Bond women all in fact, I'm not greedy, but never in the race 007 had a license for everything I didn't own a car! If only he was doped tested. Yep! In the end I had my own paddock. Lucky I could tell the sheep from the goats. Anyway, I found My Filly; had to jump over a paddock or two. But it was worth it I could have ended up a gelding; a monk amongst fillies and mares. It's funny.... now that I'm older I think I'm become a mule! Francis comes to mind! Wilbur!
