When love fizzled.

When love fizzled.

A Poem by andrew mitchell

When love fizzled.
The effervescence,
love
bubbled
until.....
the last pop
while the champagne glasses
together laid empty.

We see the word love splattered all over young female writers poems as if it were mandatory. Yet even us adults can find ourselves wounded by its quick bite. Nothing is promised or guaranteed as we know but the anticipation of a long and successful outcome is always hoped for.

What a shame when the results become just as you've so astutely described. Such is life. A puzzle to figure out for another day and another try.

Relic.

haha yes indeed Thank you Kathie
Yes, love (or the lusty side of love, anyway) can end up like that sometimes. From fizz to fizzle, in next to no time. A good little poem!
