Unpopular!

Unpopular!

A Poem by andrew mitchell

Unpopular!

When the last act was read,
the final curtain fell,
there was no applause;
no-one took any notice.

Nobody is born popular.. Everybody might have felt this. The feeling of not being appreciated. As a writer I sure have faced many situations were I thought my talents were left unseen.. But that's how it is..
It's hard but if we can overcome that , it'll be the best for us and it'll help us be better in the future. :)

Great write.. Relatable. :) Keep writing!

How sad, could apply to so many situations and within also. This is concisely full of impact. Each line a lament unto itself, wow :)

Yes indeed, many situations, how the in crowd can just move on somewhere else. Thank you Poppy
Very sad indeed! It seems that way with some of our poetry posted, doesn't it? Sometimes a poem gets hardly any notice at all. Lydi**

What's worse than being reviled, being ignored of course! Spot on andrew; I've already put in my will that a few bob has to be spent on hiring some mourners before the relatives get their claws into my pile. :))

Ignorance and rejection it's what your poem makes me think of. Bluntly and soberly written down, the artists become sort of shut down without recognition.

I omitted the last line " The theatre was all but empty." to make this write more general.

Thanks for the info. You're welcome.
Wow. That's just sad. I suddenly felt like I was standing all alone on a stage....and naked! Yikes.
On the bright side, "the curtain fell, and no-one took notice" See...The power of positive thinking and finding humor in all things haha...:) love this.

lol thank you e
what a hard way to go....no applause, no notice...

sometimes we poets feel that way....totally ignored....like the curtain fell right on us and smashed what little ego we had to start with, right into the floorboards.
